Toowoomba Suburbs Guide: Finding the Right Neighbourhood

Toowoomba's suburbs spread across a plateau city of approximately 180,000 people, with the historic East Toowoomba and Newtown areas at the inner eastern and southern edges being the most character-rich. East Toowoomba has heritage homes, proximity to Queens Park and walkable streets lined with mature trees. Rangeville and Middle Ridge in the south are established family suburbs with strong school catchments. North Toowoomba and Drayton in the north offer older, more affordable housing. Kearneys Spring is a mid-city suburb with good commercial amenity and access to the private hospital precinct. Highfields to the north of the city is a newer growth area with rural-residential lifestyle blocks and a growing population. Toowoomba's compact grid makes most suburbs accessible by car in under 15 minutes from the CBD.
