Picnic Point Toowoomba: Escarpment Views and the Toowoomba Range

Picnic Point Reserve on the Toowoomba escarpment, about four kilometres from the CBD, is one of the city's most popular free attractions. The reserve sits on the edge of the Great Dividing Range and offers panoramic views down the Lockyer Valley, across the Darling Downs and to the D'Aguilar Range on the western edge of Greater Brisbane on clear days. A network of walking tracks through subtropical rainforest runs below the viewing area, and the picnic grounds are well equipped with barbecue facilities popular on weekends. The nearby Toowoomba Range Lookout on the New England Highway provides a different vantage point over the steep eastern face of the range. Both sites are free to visit.
