Letters to the editor
Have your say on the issues that matter in Toowoomba. We publish a selection of reader letters each week.
Range Crossing needs a long-term plan
Closing the Range every time it rains is no longer good enough. We need a credible, costed long-term plan from both the council and the state — not another study filed in a drawer.
Bravo to the Carnival of Flowers volunteers
I walked through Queens Park on Sunday and the gardens have never looked better. A huge thank-you to the council crews and volunteers who make this city bloom every year.
Where is the Highfields bus service?
Families in Highfields and Cabarlah are still waiting on a usable weekend bus. If we want fewer cars on the New England Highway, we need real public transport, not promises.
Keep the CBD alive after 6pm
The new Margaret Street upgrades are great, but Ruthven Street empties out at night. More small bars, longer trading and safer lighting would do wonders for the city centre.
Save the heritage buildings
Toowoomba is one of the great Victorian-era cities in Australia. Every time a sandstone building comes down for a carpark we lose something we can never replace.
