Winter events in regional centres face tighter budgets and higher demand for limited venues this year. Families and day-trippers from Brisbane and the Lockyer Valley now book ahead rather than arrive on impulse because fuel prices and parking shortages have changed travel habits since last season.
The main site sits inside Queens Park on Lindsay Street while a second precinct runs along Ruthven Street between Margaret and Chalk drives. Toowoomba Regional Council runs the event with support from the Empire Theatre, which supplies indoor seating and power for evening sessions.
Transport and entry details
Free shuttle buses leave from the Clifford Gardens shopping centre car park every 20 minutes between 9am and 9pm. Drivers pay $12 to park at the Queens Park overflow lot on 18 and 19 July. The council recorded 34,800 visitors across the three-day weekend in 2025, with 62 per cent arriving by car.
Security staff will check bags larger than a small backpack at both entrances. No glass or alcohol is permitted. Markets close at 10pm each night and reopen at 8am the following morning.
What to expect on site
Stalls inside the park sell mulled wine for $8 and hot pies for $7.50. The Empire Theatre hosts a $25 ticketed concert each evening featuring local bands. Children can use the free craft zone near the rotunda until 4pm daily.
Organisers advise arriving before 10am on Saturday to avoid queues at the Lindsay Street gate. Online tickets remain available until midnight on 17 July through the council website. Visitors who forget cash can use EFTPOS at every stall, though some smaller producers still prefer notes.
